About the Author
Amon G. Carter III, the author of Saving Lucky, grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He has provided financial support to organizations like the Tarrant Food Bank in honor of a fallen enlisted sailor, PS1 Jarrett Jenkins; All Things Possible Ministries whose goal is to identify, interrupt, and restore those dealing with trauma; and Unbound North Texas whose aim is to stop human trafficking and support victims of such abuse. Mr. Carter has also donated books to places like St. Judes Children's Hospital and Cooks Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, TX where he resides.
Since childhood, his love for martial arts made him work hard to earn a black belt in American karate under J. Pat Burleson, and in Aikido under Sensei Craig Dunn.

The Story Behind the Book
One morning in New Mexico, Amon went outside and found that a tiny baby bird seemingly had blown out of its nest. As soon he saw him, he fed and cared for the bird for over 100 days. Slowly but beautifully, the European starling gathered strength. The two enjoyed each other’s company immensely. And, one beautiful day, after Lucky was strong enough, he flew into the great outdoors. The incredible experience inspired Mr. Carter to write this book chronicling their time together.

Book Summary
Saving Lucky is a story about a small baby bird falling out of its nest and getting injured. A man found him and named him “Lucky.” He cared continuously and nurtured him back to perfect health. The story is told from the eyes of Lucky.
